Chest
This seems like a simple question, but it isn't. There are 4 values to be considered, the total face value of the $5 coins, the total face value of the $10 coins, the total value of the gold in the half chest, and the total value of the gold in the full chest. Whichever is greatest determines which chest is worth more.
If the intrinsic value of the gold is more than half the face value of the coins, then the simple answer is that a full chest of gold is worth more than a half chest of gold.
If the intrinsic value of the gold is less than half the face value of the coins for both the $5 and the $10 denominations, then the answer will depend on the size of the coins. If the $5 coins are smaller than the $10 coins (like quarters and half-dollars) then they will be worth more. If the $10 coins are smaller than the $5 coins (like dimes and nickels) then they will be worth more.
Oh, by the way, there is another answer to this question. The value of the chest has nothing to do with the value of whatever it holds.
